Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every face, skin type, and aesthetic goal is different. During your consultation, we will evaluate your concerns, medical history, and expectations to recommend a personalized plan designed to enhance your features while maintaining a balanced, natural appearance.
-
Some treatments may be performed on the same day, while others require an initial evaluation. A consultation allows us to review your medical history, identify possible contraindications, confirm that you are an appropriate candidate, and design the best treatment plan for you.
-
Treatment time varies by procedure. Most injectable treatments take approximately 20–45 minutes. Microneedling appointments generally take about 60 minutes, including skin preparation and topical numbing time.
-
Downtime depends on the procedure.
Neuromodulator treatments typically require little to no downtime. Dermal fillers may cause temporary swelling, tenderness, or bruising. After microneedling, it is common to experience redness and sensitivity similar to a mild sunburn for approximately 24–72 hours.
Each patient will receive treatment-specific aftercare instructions.
-
The timeline depends on the treatment. Some dermal fillers provide an immediate visible change, although the final result is best evaluated after the swelling has resolved.
Neuromodulators begin working within the first several days and generally reach their full effect at approximately two weeks.
Microneedling and regenerative treatments provide progressive improvements over the following weeks as the skin goes through its natural renewal process.
-
The duration depends on the treatment, product used, treatment area, metabolism, and lifestyle of the patient.
Neuromodulators typically last several months. Dermal fillers may last from several months to more than a year, depending on the product and treatment area. Skin-quality treatments are best maintained with an initial series followed by periodic maintenance sessions.
-
Our approach is to enhance your features while preserving facial harmony. Every treatment is planned individually, and when appropriate, we use a conservative and progressive approach.
Although a specific outcome cannot be guaranteed, our goal is to achieve a balanced, refreshed, and natural-looking result.
-
All three are neuromodulators that temporarily relax targeted muscles to soften lines caused by facial expressions.
Botox® is one of the most recognized options. Results begin to appear within the first several days and generally last approximately 3–4 months.
Dysport® also typically begins working within a few days. Its distribution characteristics may differ, which can be beneficial depending on the treatment area and the patient’s anatomy. Results generally last approximately 3–4 months.
Daxxify® uses a peptide-stabilized formulation and may provide a longer duration. In clinical studies of frown lines, more than half of patients maintained no or mild lines for approximately six months.
The best option depends on the treatment area, facial anatomy, goals, preferences, and previous response to treatment. Individual results and duration may vary.
-
All three may be used to complement microneedling, but they use different technologies and components.
VAMP Advanced contains PDRN, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids, and minerals. It is designed to complement microneedling and support skin hydration, radiance, and overall skin quality.
AnteAGE MD uses a professional solution containing growth factors, cytokines, and other skin-supporting components to complement skin recovery and renewal.
PurePRP® is prepared individually from a sample of the patient’s own blood. Platelets contain growth factors and biological mediators involved in the body’s natural repair processes.
Not all preparations marketed as “PRP” have the same concentration, purity, or consistency. The final quality depends on the processing system, centrifugation protocol, platelet recovery, and the amount of red blood cells or other components remaining in the preparation.
At Nuvé, we use EmCyte’s closed PurePRP® SupraPhysiologic system, processed with the Executive Series Centrifuge II. This system uses a specialized double-spin protocol to separate and concentrate platelets with greater precision while reducing unwanted blood components.
This allows us to produce a cleaner, more concentrated, and more consistent PRP preparation than plasma obtained through basic single-spin systems. Each preparation is created at the time of treatment using the patient’s own blood.
The best option among VAMP Advanced, AnteAGE MD, and PurePRP® depends on the patient’s skin condition, goals, and preferences. Individual results may vary.
-
PRX Derm Perfexion is a professional skin biorevitalization treatment designed to improve the appearance of firmness, elasticity, hydration, texture, fine lines, and early signs of aging.
Its formula combines TCA, hydrogen peroxide, and kojic acid. Unlike a traditional chemical peel, PRX is designed to stimulate skin renewal without needles and without the frosting or significant peeling commonly associated with traditional TCA peels.
It may be used on the face, neck, and décolletage. It generally requires minimal downtime, although some patients may experience temporary redness, sensitivity, or mild flaking.
At Nuvé, we recommend an initial protocol of four treatments performed approximately once a week. The plan may be adjusted according to the patient’s skin condition and goals.
-
Although improvement may be visible after one session, an initial series of three treatments spaced approximately 4–6 weeks apart is generally recommended.
Scarring, texture concerns, or other specific needs may require additional sessions. Maintenance treatments may be scheduled after the initial series is completed.
-
Instructions vary according to the procedure. Before any treatment, inform your provider about:
Medications and supplements.
Blood thinners.
Allergies.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Active infections.
Recent or upcoming dental procedures.
History of cold sores.
Recent aesthetic treatments.
Before microneedling, you may need to temporarily discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and other potentially irritating products. After treatment, use sun protection and avoid excessive heat, strenuous exercise, and active skincare products for the recommended period.
Do not discontinue blood thinners or any prescribed medication without authorization from the clinician who prescribed it. Each patient will receive treatment-specific instructions.

In some cases, yes. This depends on the procedure, availability, medical evaluation, and confirmation that there are no contraindications.
Certain treatments require advance preparation, planning, or a separate appointment.
-
Contraindications vary according to the procedure and product used. They may include:
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Active infection in the treatment area.
Open wounds.
Allergies to product ingredients.
Certain neuromuscular conditions.
Bleeding disorders.
Specific medications or medical conditions.
Eligibility is determined during the medical evaluation. Not every treatment is appropriate for every patient.
-
Yes, but we recommend planning ahead.
Neuromodulator treatments should ideally be scheduled at least two weeks before an event. For dermal fillers, PRX Derm Perfexion, or microneedling, it may be preferable to allow two to four weeks, depending on the procedure and the possibility of temporary swelling, bruising, redness, or flaking.
During your consultation, we can help you create an appropriate treatment timeline for your event.
